How long have you been driving for Alliance? – For approximately 6 months.
Have you always been a Class 2 HGV driver? – No my career has been varied since leaving school 4 decades ago.
What is it that sets Alliance drivers apart from other agency drivers? – Integrity when dealing with problems or issues.
Can you describe a typical day for you? – Reasonable time to start the day. The employer pretty much leaves you to get on with your tasks and supports you when you need help during the course of the day. Also finish work at a reasonable time too, no long shifts or long distance driving for the client assigned to me.
What do you most enjoy about your role? – Being out on the road and meeting people.
What do you least enjoy about your role? – Poor, bad and discourteous drivers.
Is there any advice you would give to anyone considering becoming a driver? – Have a lot of patience, you’re going to need it.
How would you describe the support you receive from Alliance? – In a word: excellent
